Third Day of Advent - Robin Redbreast

Third day of Advent
A detail from a larger Christmas painting, this little robin defies conventional wisdom that North American robins always fly south for the winter. Here is a page about robins that stay. I like the description of their song as "chip chip cheerio, jam on toast!"

    Aren't robins lovely birds...all the international versions of these little singers.

    Funny...although I do recognize their song, I've never before hear the "chip, chip, cheerio..." description. Thank you for letting us know about it.

    The next time I hear a Robin sing, I will keep that little ditty in mind. All the advent illustrations are lovely as always.
